From the director of ' Bhaji on the Beach' comes this superb quartet of interrelated stories set in LA at Thanksgiving.  In four very different households family tensions come to the boil over the celebratory meal.  A Jewish matriarch has to accept the unpalatable truth of her daughter's lesbianism, an African-American mother-in-law finds nouveau cuisine hard to digest, a Vietnamese mother attempts to blend the old and the new and a Mexican woman finds a new recipe for family unity.  The film uses the different interpretation of the traditional meal in each household to show that with the right balance of ingredients harmony can be created, as in human relationships when tolerance and sensitivity is applied a full and satisfying integration of flavours can result. Comedy drama with sumptuous food imagery throughout.
