Grant's first film is the semi-autobiographical story of his coming-of-age in Swaziland at the end of the 60s.  His family is crumbling as the Empire disintegrates and the young Ralph has to come to terms with his mother's adultery, his father's remarriage and alcoholism and life at boarding school.  Wah Wah is the term his father's new wife, an American airline stewardess, uses to describe the language of a decadent society in decline.  Well acted by an excellent cast, this is a witty and uplifting tale set entirely in the stunning landscape of Swaziland.
