A poignant comedy about family relationships set in
Brooklyn
in the 80s. As a writer's career declines and his wife becomes more successful, strains within the marriage start to show and the pair decide to divorce. The emotional fallout is devastating. 16 year old Walt and his 12 year old brother are forced to take sides, Walt going to live with his father and Frank with his mother. This film was well received at the Sundance Festival and its power lies in its well observed depiction of human fallibility, sensitive acting and close attention to period detail. |
