Inspired by actual events and based on a Japanese Antarctic film, Eight Below is the heart-warming story of eight dogs who are left in the wilderness when the team of scientists they work for are evacuated during dire weather.  The first part of the film deals with the humans in the team but when the dogs are abandoned the film focuses on the environment and the dogs themselves, and how they behave in this life-threatening situation.  Likened to 'March of the Penguins' this film is a must for lovers of dramatic scenery and good nature photography, or for those who simply love dogs!
